About Me

Bridging Innovation, Accessibility, and Strategic Leadership

Ayesha Zubair - Product Leader and Accessibility Advocate

I'm Ayesha Zubair, a product leader with over 12 years of experience in financial services, including 7+ years dedicated to product management. Currently leading digital transformation initiatives at TD Bank, I bring a unique perspective that combines strategic foresight, human-centered design, and an unwavering commitment to accessibility and inclusion.

Professional Journey

My career spans from designing RBC's inaugural Voice of Employee program to managing product initiatives at TD Bank. I've consistently focused on creating products and services that don't just meet business objectives but genuinely serve all users, regardless of their abilities.

Academic Excellence

I hold a Bachelor's in Human Resource Management from York University and am currently pursuing a Master's in Strategic Foresight and Innovation Design at OCAD University. My research focuses on "Resilient by Design: Enabling Agility and Resilience in Ontario's Small and Medium Enterprises."

Board Leadership

I serve on multiple boards including the Centre for Independent Living Toronto (CILT) and Holland Bloorview's Catalyst Council. As a member of Metrolinx's Accessibility Advisory Committee, I help shape the future of accessible transportation across the Greater Toronto Area.

Advocacy & Impact

As a Youth Representative to Canada's National Youth Forum in 2016, I contributed to shaping the country's first national accessibility legislation. My advocacy work addresses policy barriers and regional disparities, working to bridge gaps that affect millions of Canadians with disabilities.

My Philosophy

I believe that inclusive design isn't just about compliance—it's about innovation that benefits everyone. My journey as both a professional and an accessibility advocate, combined with my lived experience as someone who uses an electric wheelchair, gives me unique insights into creating products and services that truly serve all users.

For over 16 years, I've been mentoring youth with disabilities, helping them navigate career transitions, disclosure decisions, and workplace accommodations. This commitment to lifting others as I climb is central to who I am—because meaningful innovation happens when diverse voices lead the conversation.

Whether it's transforming digital banking experiences, advising on accessibility strategy, contributing to board governance, or inspiring audiences through speaking engagements, I'm driven by one goal: making meaningful innovation the norm, not the exception.
